I JUST GOT A ROLAND 2480CD AND A LCD MONITOR . IM NEW TO HIGH TECH RECORDING SO I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE IS USING THE SAME BOARD CAN TELL ME SOME COOL STUFF TO GET WITH THE UNIT, AND WHAT SOFTWARE RUNS BEST WITH IT WHEN I GO INTO A COMPUTER. THANKS ALSO AREN THERE ANY DVD TUTORIALS ON RECORDING AND Mixing ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT?

Does anybody here own this unit? I'm seriously considering it and would like to hear what people think.

What do you think of the 2480 vs Mackie,Tascam,Yamaha etc. regarding the sound quality ( please reference the 2480 not older Roland units they upgraded thier front end on the 2480)

Anyone used the MMP2 yet? A guy I was talking to was raving about his. I was curious if they are all they are cracked up to be?

Hi, I'm new to this scene and interested to find out opinions on the Roland VS series consoles
I have an 1880 an am happy with its performance, except when it comes to digitally transferring tracks to computer (pro tools, cubase). I can only manage to do 2 tracks at a time via optical or coaxial. and when using MTC I have slight sync discrepancies with multiple transfers.

I download some files (from a Roland site)that are supposed to allow me to get the factory presets back by playing them into the Keyboard. As I understand it, they are audible files that need to be played into the keyboard via a 1/4" cable. Is this correct, and can anyone give me some helpful information on how I might be able to accomplish this?

I've worked several times with a roland vm series console but with a vm link cable(AES/EBU)5 meters long.The manual says that the vm processor can be placed 200 meters away from the console.Is there anyone that had tried it, and can post the results here?

i'm trying to figure out how to play the keys on my roland 307 so that they will record in a sequence on my MPC2000XL. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. I was able to do so with the Triton but i'm having trouble doing it with my roland for God (and you) only knows why! Please help.

Hi! Can somebody please shed a a lot of light on how to proberly midi up my MPC and Roland MC307. What i am tryin' to do is play the keys on the 307 and have them record into the sequence of my MPC. I've recently learned that i needed a mixer to do this (duh) and was successful at doing it with my friends Triton.
