Soundcards - Which one is right for me?
I currently have an older Soundblaster Audigy 2. Next month or so I am going to invest in a new soundcard. What do I use it for. I have 5.1 Audio system hooked up to my computer - a Logitech Z5500 digital. I play games here and there, but as many of you know am now going to be dabbling in recording for podcasting. I have picked out a Preamp, & an At4040 mic.

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy with the front mounted interface, but the audio input quality is less then what I would like.

sick sound card symptoms?
Hello,
I have a PC running Cubase sx3. Everything has been going swimmingly for over a year. then a couple of bad lock ups that forced me to warm boot.
After that my delta 44 is acting up. Made sure the sound card was still linked to Cubase (through devices) but stutters, clicks, pops both in and out of Cubase (even playing an mp3 through windows media player).

Sound card for recording and transferring LPs to CD
I'm looking for a sound card that I can use mainly for some simple home recording with my PC and transferring my LPs to CDs and MP3s. One of my friends recommended the M-Audio Audiophile 2496, which seems like it would be a good fit. But I'm wondering if I could use it for both a desktop and a laptop. If not, can anyone recommend an alternative? I'm not looking for anything fancy.
