"Voltage-Spike(?)" in Speakers when Playback starts
Often (not always), when I start playing a sound file or video on my Laptop (MacBook Pro), I get a very audible "spike/click" in my speakers (Dynaudio BM5 MK3, connected via Presonous Audiobox USB) before the playback starts. This happens especially often, when listening to something on the internet. What can I do against that?

Toronto Guest Speaker: Nick Blagona
Hey pal..
I just heard of a recording seminar happening in Toronto on Nov 17... sponsored by SOS and PrismSound... I thought I'd let you know about it in case you didn't know, and if this might be something you'd want to attend. It's free. If I could afford the travel expenses, I'd go myself. ;)

Speaker went out
I have a set of Samson A8 studio monitors. One day I heard static coming from one speaker. Every time a touched the volume knob on my audio interface I heard the sound. I still listened to music fine for two weeks. Today I opened pro tools to listen to music and I heard it more consistently and while the music was playing. All of a sudden the monitor completely stopped working.

#10 AWG (2 conductor) vs. . #12 AWG (4 conductor) Speaker Wire
Hey guys, I'm doing some wiring specs (exciting right ? Lol) and I'm completely unsure of what to go with.
It's speaker wire for a cinema setup. The surrounds, and the Screen Channel speakers accept up to 10awg wire with barrier strip screw terminals. The reference speakers and subs are on speakin NL-8 connectors which accept up to 12awg wire.

Can I use stereo speakers with pro audio power head?
I posted in the forum before and received very helpful information so I'm going to give it another go. I have an audio rack with a mixer and other gear. My powerhead is a Peavey DPC-1000. I have a set of 3 way stereo speakers, like the kind that you would hook up to your stereo receiver for home theater. The speakers have the terminals for speaker wire connection.
Using passive speakers with a non-powered Mixer
I am trying to use passive speakers as monitors. (I don't have anymore powered speakers). Would it be okay to plug passive speakers into a powered mixer and plug that powered mixer into the monitor out of a non-powered mixer. I already have 2 powered speakers for my 2 main speakers.
Powered mixer - Pyle PMX840BT
Non powered mixer - Mackie profx16v2
Thanks
