New to setting up speakers...
Greetings!
I recently bought a pair of passive monitors as part of my attempt at a mini home studio and will admit I do not know the first thing about hooking them up.
the monitors in question are http://www.krksys.com/krk-studio-monitor-speakers/r6.html

Where would you put the speaker?
If you were to record a drum kit but the kick drum is from an electric kit ?
You have a matched pair for overheads, a 57 for snare, and a RODE nt1a to use.

Assessing/Repairing Dead Speaker
Hey all, i finally got around to fixing my car stereo, which is a 'component' system, where the speakers have separated mid/tweeters and a sub box in the trunk, nothing fancy, stock (radio head unit) power for the mids tweeter, 250w amp for the bass box.

Genelec 1038A 3 Way Studio Monitor Speakers
I have acquired 5 each Genelec 1038A 3 way monitors in excellent condition. I also managed to pick up a Genelec 1094A Subwoofer in the package. These were replaced in 2004 by the 1038B... not a huge amount of difference between the models. These retailed for close to $9K each...
I would consider a qty offer if anyone is game.

An inexpensive speaker tweak that works...
I am not a believer in a lot of audiophile tweaks but I just found something that is pretty amazing. I put these under my ALON I vs.

Volume control for Active Speakers
I'm looking for an analog volume control knob to put between my Firewire soundcard (MOTU 896mk3) and Active monitors (Focal Twin6)
I don't want to just lower the volume in my DAW or on the soundcard because it'll reduce the bit depth resulting in a lower quality signal at the DA stage of my soundcard. I'd like to keep all 24bits in use.

Alesis M1Active 520 - One speaker has distorted bass
Hello guys!
Need suggestions for monitor speakers
Currently, I'm using the Propellerhead Balance with my brother's headphones (Sennhiser HD 518, really nice). I've been thinking about getting some proper speakers for under $1500. I produce bass-heavy music, so smaller speakers are a no-no. Also, they need to support multiple voltage configurations (i.e. have a voltage selector)
Thanks!

Cheap, yet Good Sounding Monitor Speakers
New to recording, a bit low on cash from buying other gear. Any recommendations on cheap monitors that will give me the closest to real sound everyone would hear. The music I am doing is bass heavy, so good sounding bass is wanted. I have done some research, but most stuff I read online are pretty old, so I am looking for more up-to-date answers.
