so basically a few months back i sold my Tascam us 122 (or 144) as i rarely used it and my laptop was sh*t and was rather impractical as i didnt have a desk so i had to use my bed with a laptop and interface which was rather annoying

Hi Folks, Thats my first post, so hello to everybody. I need help in one case: I used to use Tascam FW-1082 as a DAW controller and audio card as well. Last days I've tried to change my audio configuration, so it looks in that way now: WinXp, DAW (Cubase) - firewire connection to Firewire 410 - SPDIF Out to SPDIF In at Tascam (coax) - Tascam Analog Out(L+R) to active monitors.

Hey everyone, I am a newbie here, and also a freshman interms of my audio experience.

I just wanted to see if anyone else out there has ever sort of hooked up their vintage tape/analog set up and worked within Pro Tools, and sort of did a mesh between analog and Pro Tools editing?

I just wanted to see if you had any tips or tricks.

Each speaker plays static. Even when no audio input cables are plugged in. I'm a noob with audio settings with my new KRK Rokit 5 G2's and i don't want to turn a bunch of knobs I know very little about.

My issue is when I record a track and play it back, the audio is coming through my speakers ahead of the actual wave and cursor. Any ideas on how to fix this?

i've been listening to old tapes i made on a 688. conclusion: i am done with cubase. editing and clarity are amazing, but the actual sound, the depth and warmth; really a disgrace to music. i've actually changed the way i play to avoid dynamics because everything gets smashed down to sh*t anyway.

hey all, i added a Behringer Ultrapatch Pro patchbay to my setup. just wondering how to set it up. i have seen a few tutorials regarding seperate mixers/DAW's but none with the Tascam 2488.

i want to patch in my Roland juno keyboard, My Pre strip, my Alesis reverb, and my delay pedal/POD effects unit.

In the past, I got so disgusted with Tascam boards I developed a genuine loathing that I've usually saved for specific junior Marine infractions or senior Marine abuse. The last Tascam board I had was a "studio" board that I literally poured gasoline on and lit a match cackling as it melted.

Hello I just received my Tascam 414 MKII in the mail. I haven't had a chance to use it and I probably won't for a few days. In the mean time I've read the whole manual but there are a few things that I still don't understand and would like to before I get going with it. I also have some questions about tape tracking in general.
