Multiple vocal Micing - live recording
Please give some suggestions to this scenario:
(This is an on-going weekly effort):
I am recording a live jazz orchestra for delayed radio broadcast (and, later, cable TV & web). For now, this is being recorded straight to DAT - mixed on the fly. No o-dubbing, post mix work, etc.

Vocal mic for $1k
Hi guys any consensus for a lead vocal mic for around $1k - $1.2? I'm waiting on Stephen's mic but need to get something in the meantime.
Been using AT4060 (too dark and boxy for me), TLM 103 (too silibant, sounded compressed next to U87)

Vocal mic signal chain question.
Hi,
I am having trouble recording vocals, and I have some questions that somebody on this forum may be able to answer. I would appreciate any help.
Here is what I've been trying.
I have an AKG3000b to my preamp inserted thru my compressor(after the preamp), to my DAW.

Advice for affordable LD condenser vocal mic..
I have researched a number of the "china syndrome" offerings :) and would like some learned opinions on what I perhaps should purchase. This one mic will be used on a male vocals for a demo to be produced in yes. .a home studio environment. I've twice read great reviews about the Studio Projects C1.

vocal microphones that make you drool
I'm looking at purchasing a mic solely for vocals. I've had some experience with U89s, U87s, TLM140, Geffals etc. recording in other studios (with great results), but as I am buying this for my own studio I want to make sure I purchase something amazing (as I'll probably only start with 1 mic). After a bit of research the options I have so far are M129, Manley Reference and Brauner VM1.
