WAHHHHHH HOOOOOOOOO!

Fukin AMAZING !

First mix done with em, I was running about 25 of them...

Qualities:

"Direct" - there aint no bogus 'veil' across it, this ain't no 'this-will-have-to-do' sound..

"Big" - big sound, great mid control - WITH BALLS -we are talking 'improvement" not 'sound destroying' boost.

"GML like' - surgical but smooth at the same time

"screw the graphic man, I am f**king HEARING it"!

"top end finally useable" - man oh man, super slick, but jumping out at you.

Vital step for the PT comunity, a Sony compressor will complete the package.

The DSP usage is quite heavy, especially if you wish to have the low & hi
>>> filters as well. Here is the spec:
>>>
>>> For MIX Farm cards: EQ & Filters 2 per DSP chip, EQ (no filters)4 per DSP
>>> chip, Filters (only) 3 per DSP chip
>>>
>>> For DSP Farm cards (Merle PCI cards): EQ & Filters NONE (bummer!), EQ (no
>>> filters)1 per DSP chip, Filters (only) 1 per DSP chip
>>>
>>> It will not run at all on Nubus DSP Farm cards.

Let's think of it this way... It's not that expensive at all - if it brings you more work without having to buy a $250,000 board. If you can't afford the fancy tools, do what you can with what you've got. Nobody is twisting your arm. Damn junkie. hehe
Drool doesn't cost a thing.

Now I just wonder what filterbank would sound like if it ate half a chip! Compbank too, for that matter.

I was checking the IQS site out but really didnt see what hardware is required or if it comes with it? Any controll surfaces for it? What file formats are accepted and what can it be saved as? Can it be easily transfered to one system to another? Does it accept third party plugins? Whats the track count on it when it's system dependant? Etc Etc

Hmmm....Well the 'quality' of that new eq is, I think, what is getting everybody excited. And that is a huge issue around here. I don't know very many hit records that were cut with Saw Studio, but I'll check it out. Not that this is necessarily an indication of something being 'pro' or not, but, well, come to think of it....it is.

Hi Mario,

>

I think you'll find that SAW Studio does not include Sony Oxford EQ. But if you are talking about any old EQ why spend $2500 on SAW Studio when you could buy a shareware package for $40?

We are talking about a high end plugin on a high end DAW. It's a bit like we are all discussing supercars like Ferraris and Lambourghinis and you chime in and tell everyone that the best supercar is a Hyundai compact!

You've posted irrelevant messages like this one more than once in different threads and forums here. I can't decide whether you have a vested interest in advertising the SAW Studio or you just don't have a clue what you're talking about. Either way, you need to think a bit more carefully before you post messages.

Hi GentleG,

My reply wasn't almost arrogant, it was very arrogant! It was designed to reflect the arrogance of Mario's message. If you are going to enter a discussion on a specific product just to slate that product, there are only two requirements: Firstly that what you are posting is relevant to the discussion and secondly that you've got your facts right! Mario's post was not relevant and with the exception of his own name and the hyperlink ALL his facts were wrong! If that's not bad enough Mario continues to do this same thing across a number of different threads and forums.

If you're not sure of your facts then ask rather than slate.

GentleG
Greg is absolutely correct. That's why I asked Mario to tell us more...but amazingly he hasnt....hmmm? I think he is doing P&R work for them or something. SAW has been around for a while and obviously isnt hitting the right market for a reason.
Anyways, Gentle...dont but into discussions like that...Greg put a very valid point across..if you didnt like it..ignore it..dont post something that starts a silly flame war..if my memory serves me correct you did the same thing on the Tascam forum. We are all very hard working professionals in here and spend the time helping people out and not posting things like Mario and yourself...if we do we do it in better taste. Please take this into consideration when posting here...thanks..
