For now, try changing the tone of your click, andor change the volume level. i have akg k141's and I haven't had too many probs, although I know there are better.

A couple ideas...

If you are going for absolute cheapness, earbuds have zero leakage and can be had for under $5.00.

A mid priced solution are the Sennheiser HD202s. $20.00, a good, loud sound (a little honky), and little leakage.

My favorite for the task are Sennheiser HD280. Fantastic sound, as sealed as can be, and very comfortable. They cost about $100.00.

I've always loved the liquid filled ear-piece of the Metrophones headphones.

They're in that same $100 range - can be bought with or without metronome and give probably the best sound isolation i have ever seen (heard?)(Haven't heard? :D :D :D )

I've tried a number of solutions for this.

Studio Kans. Cheap to buy - 29 or so db noise reduction - sound like s**t - painful to wear for long sessions. I sold mine at a loss and was happy to get rid of them.

In-ear monitors-30 db noise reduction (or for extreme isolation, in-ear monitors with the noise reduction headphones that airplane baggage guys use over them - probably 40+ noise reduction)

In ears sound good but have little bass response unless you buy the real expensive ones. The ones I have are the Shure ones that cost about 100 bucks (I plug them into a headphone cable - I didn't buy the transmitter/receiver)

My favorite solition is Drum Tek Headphones. 29 db isolation, comfortable to wear, and they use Sony 7506 drivers

I picked up a pair of Extreme Isolation headphones... tracked drums with them for the first time this morning. Great isolation, no bleed. Really nice for checking mic phase as well. $135

The extreme headphones look like a good buy - and i think i will pick up a pair to check them out -

as a drummer myself isolation is key - i would point out however that the Frequency Response seems a wee bit better on the Metrophones - 15 - 25000 hz vrs 20 - 20,000 hz for the Extreme, the click track version has a output jack - so the drummer can set the pace and put the click in the mix, and the water just feels so damn good on my ears when i use them.

The claim of a 29 db reduction however is the same for both headphones.
