I'm not so sure about that one to be honest. I've heard that Seagate's are indeed very quiet and do know a bunch of people who use them with no problems. I've always used Maxtor and never had any problems in any way. They aren't as quiet as they used to be but then again I just installed a couple of the brand new ATA133 2MB cached drives and they are very slim and not too noisey. Cheap too! $68 USD for them.
