As long as it's typical firewire spec, and the drivers are loaded properly into your computer, it should show up just fine as a usable Input/output for Vegas.

Vegas will "see" all of your available sound devices, and let you pick which one you want to use. AFASI, whatever is the "Default" device in Windows Control panel will show up automatically in Vegas, until you change it.

I use Vegas 7 for all of our PC video work and it's great, never had a real problem with it. Drop a note back here if you can't sort it out. Good luck with it.
