I am currently looking to buy a midi controller; a fairly simple one with no special features or anything, just reliable. With this purchase i intend to also get some software with lots of effects. Is there any specific type of controller you can recommend me, or software? Thanks in advance.

i use an m-audio 76 key radium. im just a beginner, but it works great for me. and then i bought a copy of propellerheads reason to sequence in. reason can be used hand in hand with many other recording programs (i use it with simultaneously with pro tools) through a technology called "rewire." it works great for me!
