Hi,
I don't agree with the advice you got re build quality of the Mackie mixers. I have been using several 1202VLZPro in the field for the last 5 years and have never had a problem. The build quality is very good. There are better mic pres out there, of course, but at a much higher price.

I assume from your post you are located in Canada (me too). Are you considering a good used mixer? I have a Sony 8 bus that is very high quality and about the same size as a Mackie 1604. The price is well within your budget.

I am a new member here but have 130+ perfect EBay and several hundred posts on other forums. Let me know if you are interested or would like to see some pics.

Take care,
Ron

mackie mixers

I agree that the mackies are great mixers. I've been using my cr vlz 1604 and it is very quiet with plenty of options. I am selling mine because I am going for a "all in one" studio since I am married and my studio is now a third bedroom. Thats what happens when you get old and have bills...
