I am new here, and just 3yrs into the industry. I would like some input on my recent 8track recordings. you can listen to them at myspace.com/emeraldcitybend the first 4 are the most recent tracks, and my first stab at more than 2track. I have used a Allen & Heath zed24 with Insert send to a Tascam 2488mkII recorder, then transfered all tracks to Sonalr LE6 "free with the Zed board", then mixed down with mustiple efx, and compressors/limiters. My Mic's are 2 main vocal mic's, 1 vocal/instrimunt mic "for Flute" also pics up drums when not used for flute, 2 guitar mic's, Keyboard, and Bass. Moondance has an Acoustic Guitar, and when not used for acoustic, I would transfer various vocal's to track w/o efx for certian endings. Any feedback would be great. Thank you in advance for any help.

I'm listening now, and one thing that comes to mind, is that it sounds very mono, maybe there has gone something wrong with the rendering, or perhaps you mix in mono because you like mono?

If not, I would recommend you look into getting stereo in your song, there might be something in your setup that makes everything mono?

Some panning and more stereo would help here, in my view.

you are correct, I have not panned anything, just mixing down mono for now, and getting a feel for the software, efx, cut and paste, ect... Not to mention I have uploaded at 128kbps for e-mail reasons so that does not help much as well. Thank you for the imput.
