Recently I've noticed some extremely ratty, smelly, funky, ranked out, pop filters. Went down to the 99 cent store & bought a couple packages of hosery and "upgraded" the current pop filter (I'm sure I'm not the 1st person to do this). It doesn't smell now, and there's less chance of spreading germs.

My conga practice is hurting my ears. I foolishly tried foam earplugs, but the -29dB renders practice useless--can't correct my slaps if I can't hear.

I have a G4 mac with Digi001/PTLE and those work.
I need some hard for live recording with the 001, What kind of notebook configuration(PC)you know working good?

I believe that you once suggested using rubber "O" rings to replace worn elastic in microphoone shockmounts, as purchased at automotive supply stores. I've checked some stores and catalogs and can't find any long enough.

Any suggested sources or should I contact Neumann for their elasto-cord?

Does anyone know of a website I could go to to learn how to make my midi bass and drums sound real? I do mostly rock and metal, so it really shouldn't be that hard I would guess, but I don't really know what makes a bass or drum sound rock/metal.

I am working with a local college rock band. I have worked a deal ($75 per song, six songs total) for the project that everyone has agreed with. We have tracked and overdub'd and we are getting ready for mixing.

Anybody using ceiling/rear wall diffusors in their control room? I've seen ART, VIBRANT, and RPG designs... anbody using other brands or have experience with these?
