I'd like to ask if anyone already tried the new Zoom H6 with 4x external condenser mics. There is also possibility to detach the Zoom mic and replace it with another 2x XLR/TRS inputs. I'm wondering if the 4 AA bats inside could handle 6x phantom power for external condenser mics, let's say 6mA current consumption each... and how's the quality of such a preamp.

Hi all. I am really new to the world of microphones and I'm overwhelmed after reading for a few hours. I need a microphone to simply sit on my desk and record spoken voice. I also need a zero latency headphone monitor jack on the mic. Ideally this will be a mic in the $100ish price range and USB. If I have to spend more, convince me why!

Soon I'd like to set up a youtube channel doing covers of songs on piano, electric and acoustic guitar.

I'm still new to all this and want to learn more. I usually connect my Sound Devices 302 mixer into my Sound Devices 722 recorder for field recording during a university film shoot and then we slate it for manual syncing later on. But now I want to try connect my 722 to the camera as well so I will be recording sound into both the camera and 722.

Hey all, most of you probably know i'm involved in the re opening process of a commercial studio in my area. my first involvement in a studio that is in a commercial building, and just a studio, not a home, practice area etc.

Finally after a few months the final coats of paint are starting to dry and the finish trim/slats/fabric are starting to go up!

I have a Teac 80-8 and would like to know if theres a way to make the sound of it a bit cleaner. As owners of the said recorder will already know, theres a definite 1970s sound to it, almost "muddy". Could I try boosting a certain set of frequencies on mixdown, or something similar?

I am reading an article I can't quite understand, regarding something called "muffling".

My question is. Whats muffling? is it a circuit or piece of electronics inside the microphone? is it a physical isolating mount or fabric inside the microphone's housing?
