All my music of the last ten years falls into chillout, or classical really. Rarely voices, apart from the show tracks and stuff like that - but the stuff I put out there is slowish mainly, and orchestral or synthetic in nature. My guitars get used live with the band, but my own recordings are pretty old-fashioned. I'm happy with this.
I'm from the small country of Bulgaria and I need help from experts like you with identifying 2 vintage tube microphones that I've acquired recently.
Bought them cheap for $13 each. I believe these are Tesla made since there was a 3rd different microphone in the lot and its box has the same ornaments and finish as the ones I am interested about. I've disassembled both and they both have 5703WA miniature tube inside.

Some time ago, I sold my Cranesong Avocet (which was awesome). I was doing less and less music work and more and more electronics, so it was time to simplify. I built a very simple completely passive monitor controller with just the bare minimum features. It was just for me, so it was not pretty but functional. It has a stepped attenuator, polarity, L& R mutes and Mono.
I've already read all the threads but want to start another to address my specific questions. I am using a uh7000 and am keeping my st69 tube.
I've already owned:
-c214 (liked it)
-ksm42 (sometimes I liked it but wasn't my fav)
-at4047 (didn't really like it that much)
-st69 (sometimes I LOVE it sometimes not as much)

So for five years I have had a successful mix minus set up like this:
Phone call comes into mixer on L/R channels on mixer (Channels 7/8), I have the cable going back to the phone line from the SEND output so the caller can hear me, with the correct control knob turned down so they don't hear themselves - is that the best way to do it?
I've done those 2 videos primarly for fun.. Interesting to compare hardware and plugins..

Hello Recording Gurus,
I am (primarily) a classical violinist and newbie when it comes to microphones and all things audio/technical. I am looking for pointers for recording acoustic violin and piano (steinway grand). I'll be recording in a small recital hall with wonderful acoustics (and a good amount of reverb). Also, I have access to a number of different microphones as well as any other relevant equipment that would be needed to produce an EP (preamps, etc).
I had to create a profile just for this one question. I’m new here and new to recording all analog. If someone could provide a simple, yet complete, answer, I would be very greatful. Trying to find instructions for analog recording online has been a dead end for me so I’m reaching out here.
