ok first id like to say I’m not looking for full 100 percent mastering but rather acceptable project mastering to use for demo work/song writing I’m really getting irritated at the inconsistency and overly compressed audio of today id like my levels as hot as they were in the early 90s where the mastering volume "by volume here I mean actually loudness as aposed to apparent loudness" was cut of

I'm recording and co-producing a rock/jazz/latin project- 13 songs in all, under 50 minutes. We are all excited about it as the songs are A-1 and we are getting a real good sound. Currently we are mixing, should be done sometime in late September, early October at the latest

I'm looking for a mastering company with lots of (old) analog gear, tube and opto stuff for the mastering of a 16 tracks CD.

I need to find some good noise reduction plugins that dont just lower decible levels and smooth the audio over. i need some pro noise reduction plugins, I'm willing to hear any of your suggestions

I've been doing mastering for 4 years with 12KHz lo-pass filter ALWAYS engaged and sometimes I use hpf around 40 to 80Hz to shape the bottom as well. And then doing apropriate taylor eq, compress, limit. de-ess, brickwall, and dithering process.

Quick question.
What peaves a mastering engineer when you receive a mix? What are the biggest problems you come across that really complicate your task?

should my final, mastered wav have any DC offset?
or should I always remove all before burning?

what's up with that?

When I instert the L2 on the Master (1-2) in PT the Peak meter shows red. I master on the Same session)
When I make an Aux as a master output the everything is ok. Is it an error? Or it's got to do with pre or post?
What do you suggest to do?
