MIX = MASTER
Forums
I mix with Pro Tools Mix Plus harware at the Moment and Logic software.
Any suggestion for a goot set up for compression before I master?
1) Shall I try to make sepatate groups (drums, guitars etc) and compress them? Or to compress the whole thing? May be both?
2) Shall I record the file as loud as I can? In which level to I have to go?
Thanks - Vagelis

What to if 71Hz is missing in room?
Forums
I have been tweaking out my room, which is rather large, about 27(L) x 22(W) x 10(H) and has various 50 degree angles from about the half way point on the walls up to the ceiling as its built over a garage.
Right now its standard drywall treatment, with carpet. Given its odd shape, I'm not quite sure what to do about my problem, which is:

If you want some of the finest speakers ever made, better jump on them.
IF I needed them, I would not be posting this..but those that live in cali or can afford shipping, they are the real deal.
Here is the link.
Consider this a public service announcement.

2 + 2 mastering?
Forums
hey there bill and other masters, i read in one of the post in critique you mentioned about the artist providing a 2 mix with instruments and 2 mix with vocals. .why? i can kind of think why you might do that for control of vocal placement or eq/compression but could you be specific...or is this a trade secret and you would have to expose of my body? thanks mark

Is this what a mastering house is looking to receive?
Forums
This is my brother's band, I have recorded and mixed this song. I am interested to know if this is acceptable to a mastering facility? There will likely be a few small changes, like further compressing the lead vocals to keep it from jumping, but this would be close to the final mix in my opinion. Any comments greatly appreciated!
