CLM Dynamics?
Has anyone heard of this Scotland based preamp manufacturer? I'm looking at a used DB200 2-channel mic preamp and wondering how it stacks up to something like Focusrite ISA428 or FMR's RNP.
Thanks,
Conor

Which vocal microphone?
I currently own a Sterling ST55 but I constantly need to boost up frequencies in post-production to make my vocal recordings sound more full. I want to get rid of it for a new one but I have a few choices and some criteria.
-Under $400
-Large diaphragm
-Built-in -10dB pad

Stereo Mics, SONY, AT, SP, etc.
I just got offered a good deal on a Sony ECM-999, (MS mic) and was wondering what, if any, opinions are out there on this mic.
Always on the lookout for a good stereo mic system, I like to keep my eyes open for deals, new products, etc. ... (Someday I'll buy another AKG 422 or 424!)

Overhead drum mic help
Help decide on OVERHEADS! CAD M179?
This is what I'm looking for in my price range, around 3-400 bucks. I want a good condensor (most likley be getting a matched pair) to cover overheads on a kit, maybe also decent for vocals and room mics.

Recording Bass Guitar Straight To Recorder or Miced?
Hello,
I am very new at recording music. I own a Zoom MRS 802B recorder. When I record the bass I plug straight into the machine. The sound is very muddy and far from pure. I was wondering if it is better to mic the amp and record that way. If anyone has suggestions please let me know.
Take it easy on me, remember I am new at this. Thanks
why won't Match.com match me with a microphone
I know i know... This has been asked a million times, and all vocals are different and people prefer different sounds and all that jazzy jazz.
BUT... (theres always a but)
Uses for a boundary mic?
Hey everyone, my mom just bought a Samson CM11B boundary half omni-directional condenser mic to record board meetings, but they are only going to need the mic a few days a year, so the rest of the time, I am able to use it. I was wondering if anyone knows of any music recording application this mic would be useful for.
