Anyways i was interested on your thoughts to this option:

Will be using it with PTLE at home mainly for acoustic guitar, vocals and some electric guitar. Is this a first decent mic or is there anything else around £100 i should look at?

for the cost of the 4050 i could get two 4040s. is it worth the extra money?

furthermore, if i am willing to spend 600 on a new mic, are there some other good options? I am always happy to learn about a peace of gear i have never used before.

Hey everyone.

I have an E-MU 0404 USB interface. I just recently bought a R0DE nt1-a and Planet Waves gold-plated xlr-XLR cable. I plugged it all in, turned on the phantom power from the interface, and I get very very low signal, even when I turn up the level all the way for the mic's channel.

does anyone know of an up market mic designed for heavily distorted guitars, something that will retain the warmth and richness of the tone while not hardening at higher sound levels?
