Okay, I know this is going to sound like a class A Newbie question, but I was just on the KEL site and checking out his sound clips. On it they record the same signal with a few different mics so you can compare apples to apples.

Reguardless of the price tag. What is your favorite condensor mic? Not because it can do a lot of various types of instruments. But mainly because of it's great sound.

I need to purchase a large condenser studio mic for vocal recording, and I need to do it on a budget. I know mic choice is very subjective, particularly for vocals, but I hope someone out there has some experience.

I need to purchase a wireless mic system this weekend, but only have $500 to spend! I know that I really should save up for a really good system, but what would people recommend for me w/ only that much money? What is the best buy?

I just bought an XLR cable..
I ended up buying on that ends in a male connection
Are there any .. female to female adapters out there
sketchy diagram below.. the ]--[ is what i am after.. female at one end .. and female at the other.. so the male end plugs in and i can actually make use of it!

I have a broken Shure 16A condenser mic. Not one of the more common Shures. They only produced it from 1999 to 2002.

It's an okay mic...I think I paid $120 new for it. Shure charges a flat fee of $85 to fix recording mics.

My Question: For this mic, is it worth it? Or should I give it away and use the $85 to buy a new mic?
