having trouble on this mix, any feedback would be great

hey everyone I'm working on a mix for this indie/alt rock band from my area. My main influence for the overall sound is weezer's "the blue album", but for some reason i'm having difficulties creating the space that I want. Guitars were recorded off a Marshall "trans tube" head (at100 if i'm not mistaken), bass is d.i.

A real attempt at a mix(progressive rock/metal)

Hey guys! been lurking on here for a bit and find the info and such really interesting! just thought I'd show a mix for comments/crit that I recently finished.

I interned at a studio for a year where the mixing was hybrid on an SSL G+4000 desk with a crap load of outboard units, so I learnt a fair amount, however this mix is fully ITB

Fabfilters new De-esser - Pro-DS

Fabfilters recently came out with a new desser -Pro-DS. I have their Pro bundle (Compressor, Limters, EQ, Gate) and they are my goto plugins for precision control. (I tend to use the UAD plugins for color.) I am mixing two songs (The Story and Someday Soon) with a new soprano. She's not terrible on sibilance, but as you can imagine, those songs benefit from some help.

Noise reduction plugins for Mac?

Using Mac OS 10.8.2 with Digital Performer 7.24 . . is there any AU software that is similar to Bias 'Soundsoap' that will run on this OS? Soundsoap is incompatible, and Bias is out of business. Everything I've found is either too complicated, too expensive, or requires an i-Lok. I primarily want to remove ambient background noise from vocal recordings. Thanks for any assistance!
