I'm ready to jump into Samplitude but want to know whether it's worth the extra $ for the realtime room simulator/convolution that Version 8 Professional offers vs the offline room sI'm capability in Version 8 Classic.

I know an insert jack gives you a SEND & RETURN via a y- cable with
1/4"TRS on one end and 2 TS plugs on the other.
The TS send & return signals are unbalanced signals,correct.

I actually own a M2600 16input but I've seen a deal on a M3500 32inputs.

How is the M3500 compared to the M2600? are the pre worst, better or the same? I record with an analog 24trk so actually it is always a pain in the ass to mix with a 16channels board but if the overall quality of the m3500 is not as good as the m2600 obviously I won't change...

This is a long-winded help request for calibrating my Yamaha 01v96 mixing desk for the purposes of mixing, live work and recording.

I read a brief description on tweakheadz but it fell short of telling me exactly how to do it. I feel this is a very important point so I need and would be greatly thankful for good descriptive help / advice on doing it.

I just aquired Samplitude and I'd like to start using it with my current rig (using a digi002). For whatever reason, Samplitude is recognizing the MIDI from the digi, but it's only recognizing a Soundblaster driver for audio i/o. Does anyone have a possible solution to this?

I need a new console for my home studio. It's not a project studio. It works full time. It just happens to be located at home.

I am trying to record through a a Mackie mixer and a UA-1A onto a macintosh running the latest version of tiger. when i plugin the UA-1A into the USB, Cubase is not recognizing it.

Here is my quandry. I have an old AKG C414 EB that my father used on the radio in the 80s. He gave it to me and when I went to use it, it crackled like hell. I took it to the friendly pro audio electronics shop and the guy took a look and told me I had a little corrosion, he cleaned it, but still the crackling. He called AKG, they suggested it was the capsule. The capsule itself is $350.

Any recommendations? I have the Waves L3 multimaximizer. Should I just use the eq function in that (is it as good as their linear eq?) OR should I use an eq from another manufacturer altogether? I also want something better than the WavesL10 or rennaisance eq.
