Hello! I've seen many cables these days that have 25-Pin to 1/4" TRS 8 channel snake. (Picture here --- http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DTP803/ ---) I have a PreSonus Firestation, which only has a nine pin.

The Focusrite D2 RTAS sounds totally different than TDM version.
With the same equalization, exactly.

And I was really disappointed on Bass Drum, that normally is a track
with plenty of equalization. Sounds a lot bad!

i just spent several hundred dollars on Reason 3.0 only to find that the activation code doesnt work. If any can provide me a legal license key...that would be greatly appreciated.

Im also new to recording. i guess starting with a program would be the best place. But does anyone have tips...or something useful i should know as i get into it?

For example when I've recorded an exellent piece of guitar, but there's a mistake in the playing in the end, I want to keep the first part and start recording just before the mistake occurs. I do this, but when I listen to the audiotrack at the insertion point there is a loud clip sound just when the new recording starts!...

here's my scenario:

ok- i heard one of the veteran posters on here say that you should always chose your software first and then the platform will find itself. i think this makes sense so i am trying to decide which software would best suite my needs.

I can't make up my mind as to what to get.
I want to improve my vocal recordings and am looking at one of the following 3 units:
- Focusrite Voice Master Pro
- Antares Vocal Producer 1
- TC Hellicon Voice Works

All have good and bad reviews.

Or I would just get a Behringer Tube Composer and incert that over my vocal channels?

I recently bought a 17" 1.67 Ghz G4 Power Book with OSX10.3.9 and a gig an half of ram. I've installed my PURCHASED copy of Nuendo 2.0 on the laptop and all updates. As of yet I have not purchased and interface for this computer, therefore the software is here on it's own for the moment.

Okay, I'm interested in getting an AKG 414, mostly on the recommendation of Kurt and others on here who suggest that they're one of the essentials for any studio.

The thing is, I look on eBay, I look on websites, I look in catalogs...and it seems that there are several different kinds of 414s.
