I’ve finally got my business running quite nice and euros are coming in… it’s time to spend it all before my girlfriend wastes it on shoes! ;)

I have a small studio where I do mostly commercials and tv-themes. Since I also want to do some rock stuff that I can’t record in my “closet”, I’ve decided to build a mobile recording rack.

DO YOU USE IT ? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I was wondering whether there are specific CD burners that will work with the Fostex VF160, or whether you can just stick in any old CD-r?

I had "bounced" a wav stereo track from Logic 7 Express, and had re-imported it to Logic to work with master effects on it, - but when the clip was imported it was suddenly mono, and my stereo effects were lost.

When i open the file in QT player it is stereo, but it's being converted when importing to Logic.

Looking for something that is not laptop based that only has to be two tracks. I've been location recording for a while with a pair of Earthwork Omnis and I love the sound. Hard to go wrong with them. However, I'd like to get away from the laptop. Any suggestions? I don't see a need to expand past two channels in the future...

Would you say that it is abnormal for all your rack gear to be magnetized? I just noticed this as I was troubleshooting one of my preamp units that was acting weird on occasion. I don't know if that is the problem, but I just thought it was weird that pretty much everything in my rack is magnetized.

Having finally found an EQ plug I really like I am starting look at compressors. Kjaerhus Audio, Waves, PSP, are some of the names I have looked at. Many seem perfectly capable. I saw a Pultec recreation that would pretty cool but it appears to be TDM only. I need VST (Cubase SX).

i'm wondering which plugins are generally used in real time and which ones make use of audiosuite and permanently change the file - i don't run any outboard gear, so all the compression, eqs, etc are all done via plugins. any opinions are appreciated. thanks,

I'm looking for some professional advice on which of these two plugins comes out with the best results. I've done the 30 day demo of the L3 multimaximizer and I was very impressed. There's no demo for the TC X3 as it is powercore only but I've already heard good things about it..

hi every one out there in studio land iv upgraded some time ago to m bx pro t LE 6.4 from audigy 2 for better converters+ card it does sound good .but the edit side of pro t soft ware is a night mare i can see if u just want to chop some thing of the audio wave-thats cool .but as far asfine editing the cube wins hands down -with scizzors+a line marker that goes down the page that u can see to m
