Hey everybody

I've got a small home studio where I dabble in all kinds of fun (small kittens, pretty women...oh yeah, and sound!)

Anyway, I've been looking into getting a pro tools rig set up. My question is this: is there any reason why I can connect my existing mixing board (which has all my hardware--and that kitten--plugged into it) into an MBox?

Not sure if this belongs here. but.
Does anyone know anything about this console? what's it like?..my understanding is this is the last anolog console Tascam made since the birth of digital. is this correct?. .i should still be able to hook this baby up with nuendo, no?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has ever used a Mitec Vary mixing console? There is one on sale on ebay right now, claming an original tag price of $68,000. It says it has Neve sound, and dbx compressors. Anyone have any comments, experiances?

Okay Joe and Ben - I just got Sequoia in and set up and so far I'm loving it. It truly does sound better than the others I've tried. One thing I'm real curious about though - You guys seem to be real excited about "Object Based Editing." Either I haven't figured out all the intracicies of this yet, or we have a different work flow.

I use Pro Tools LE version 6.4. I use an external Hard disk. When I start a new session I cann't do it on my external harddisk (La Cie 160 GB), I get the message ''session must be on an audio record volume''.

What the heck is the switch on the left side of the ON led for? There is no marking. I just got it and haven't had a chance to hook the sucker up yet, but I'm real curious to know what that is ...it's not even in the manual.

why the hell do people use 192khz if at the end of the day it gets burnt at 44.1khz..

I have a paid of Sony C-38 FET mics, and one has gone about 6db noisier than the other. Same shape to the noise floor, just higher level. Anyone have experience with a good person to go over these and make a repair?
