Antares Auto-Tune clips
Forums
Does anyone have a clip of a vocal track that is off key and another clip with the track pitch-corrected with Auto-Tune? I know this is asking a lot, but I have been debating getting Auto-Tune and if someone happened to have a couple tracks lying around, it would be really helpful to me(and I'm sure to others). Thank you

software to start recording music
Forums
I am a soldier in Iraq and I am trying to set myself up to do some recording. I have a P4 3.2 ghz,800FSB,1gb ram laptop on the way to me. I also have an M Audio USB MIDI interface, M Audio Mobile PRE-USB and a MXL MXL 990 Cardioid Condenser Mic on the way to me.
I am planning to connect my Johnson J-Station to this setup. I have a Steinbereger guitar I plug into the J-Station.

DAW vs Analogue vs External digital mixing
Forums
All.
I’m weighing up a possible mixer solution for a home studio. The current setup is as follows:
Vocals: BLUE Kiwi / U87 -> Liquid Channel
Acoustic guitar: KM184 x 2 -> John Hardy M1
Room: BLUE Kiwi -> John Hardy M1
Preamps -> LynxTWO -> PC with Cubase SX 3

UAD project producer powercore?
Forums
Do I need one of these? I don't use any outboard effects at the moment, (except for a Line 6 digital delay and a PODXT). Which one is the one to get? I would like to stay away from outboard effects if possible. .ok, ok. i ll invest in a good reverb and a good comp if i really have to. .but will any of these do for the rest?

New Motherboard?
Forums
Suggestions for a new motherboard will be appreciated.
Running Wavelab 5 - Windows 2000 Pro. I have an "everything" machine, with separate OS and other drives on drawers, so when I'm "audio" I'm "audio" only, but I do need to use it for run-of-the-mill computerizing and a lot of photography - if that helps. Any other info needed, please ask!

Adjusting a Cubase SL timeline
Forums
This may seem a stupid question- but I'm struggling to find the answer in the Cubase manual.
When highlighting a section of an audio track in Cubase SL3, it takes "chunks" at a time. Presumably pre-definded to match seconds of beats. How can you adjust this ? I preferably want to highlight infinately adjustable amounts, in order to cut & paste for example or insert silence ?

Melodyne
Forums
I was reading the topic about auto-tune with interest and then came across the comment ref : melodyne. I looked up melodyne and I'm now leaning toward buying this instead.
As a new comer with relatively low budget, I want to be as sure a possible I'm getting the best value.
