I was reading the topic about auto-tune with interest and then came across the comment ref : melodyne. I looked up melodyne and I'm now leaning toward buying this instead.

As a new comer with relatively low budget, I want to be as sure a possible I'm getting the best value.

Is busing even really necessary in Pro Tools? Lets say you have 5 mics on a cab, would you bus all 5 to one track, or can you leave each mic to its own track? Anyone know any real reason for busing on Pro Tools other than to make veterans feel comfortable?

i'm working with synthetic basslines and kick drum making techno music.

i have used to work with plugins to compress the bassline and kick but i would like to invest a money in some good sounding compressor (limiter) and make my basslines and kicks sounding better. i mean analog and punchy.

Out of the blue one of my 414`s has lost its recording level. I'm using a pair for drum OH`s I checked the pads, phantom power and everything seems to be adjusted as it should be. I even changed cables and tried different channels but, no difference. so i'm pretty sure it`s the mic.

well, I'm starting to get experimental with my DJ sets, basically been dubbing out out acappelas, SFX and whatnot over instrumentals...

i'm in a pop-punk/emo band and i've been recording my own stuff from the ground up since my band started 4 years ago (i'm now a senior in high school).

I'm trying to find out some information regarding adobe audition(cool edit pro).
Audition is suppose to be able to record 32 channels live. I need to know if I install multiple sound cards, can I assign the input of each card to a channel within the the software? I callled adobe and they can't answer this for me. .If anyone has this answer,PLEASE let me know.

Here's the deal; I'm really getting tired of these dumb AKG C430's I have for overheads. You have to place them so they are pointing DIRECTLY at as many critical point as possible (Ex: through the edge of a cymbal, across a rack tom, and at the snare). Otherwise, you get almost no off-axis response.
