Hi!
I want to begin to do some home recordings (guitar and voice)and i was thinking on buying Pro Tools with the MBox 2. Is this a good option or better buying another audio card and using other software?

Mid-side stereo recording question
Forums
Hi
My understanding is that in mid-side stereo recording, if a stereo track gets played in mono, the side elements cancel each other out, leaving just the mid component (this arrangement aids mono-compatablity).

John Eargle - Musician, Engineer, Teacher ...
Forums
It is with much sadness that I learned today that John Eargle, one of the finest audio engineers and teachers has passed away.
John was scheduled to speak to an AES chapter in Minnesota on Tuesday evening, and when he failed to communicate with them, his JBL colleagues went to his home and found his body.

Sony PCM-501es Digital Audio Processor
Forums
HI,
I am almost the proud (?) owner of a Sony PCM-501es Digital Audio Processor. I am in need of any info I can get, including specs, what were the popular modifications to this unit and can I make the mods myself? It looks as if I am going to be stuck with this thing, so I want to make the most of it. LOL.

F/W Mixer Compatability
Forums
I'm looking into purchasing a Phonic Helix Board 24 sometime in the near future. From the research I've done, this seems like an acceptable choice considering I'm using outboard pre's and the price is so tempting. My only problem is that I can't find anything to tell me whether it is compatible with Pro Tools LE. Does anybody know if the Helix Board will work in Pro Tools LE 6.8?

Best method to connect XLR to 1/4" TSR
Forums
Hi all,
I have a Focusrite Voicemaster Pro connected to the 5th TRS channel of Digi 002R via a homemade XLR-to-TRS cable.
Is using a XLR mic cable and adding a removable XLR/TRS adpator better or using a single custom cable better?
Pardon my ignorance ; P
