Ive seen that in many pro studios the engineer removes the fron bass drum head of the kick drum and puts a second kick drum and drapes it with a heavy blankets and puts a second mic in front of the 2nd kick. I wanted to know two things...

Just a quick thanks to all the forum members who pointed me to this mic. Just got one and I love it for vocals. I don't have much experience with mic's, so I can't give any comparisons to the high-end mic 's. Until now, I have been using an Oktava and some MXL mics for all my vocals. The Oktava was pretty good, and I hated the MXL's. The C1 was exactly what I was looking for. Sounds amazing!

I have pro tools le. I just bought the MOTU express 128 midi interface. I want to sync it with my pro tools for when i do tracking . I have a motif es8 and an mpc 2000xl. I just wante dto know how to sync them so i can track them in sync . PLease help me out. thyanks...

ok guys...so I boght the Yamaha NS40 Studio and I have to say I love them (for now)...they have a gr8 mid-range...but Im working with a streo amp...which is bad i think (isn't it?)
which amps would you recommend me buying that would be in a resnoble price range and sounds aqurate?...thanks a lot

hello everyone, i'm just here late at night trying to break in my isa 428, and i have a question. actually, this really has nothing to do with the 428 per se, but rather how to run line outs from a sampler/mixer. When i used to use my PreSonus firestation, i would run the line outs of my boss sp-303 or Korg ms2000b into the line ins of the firestation.

I am trying to make a decision on a preamp and I am thinking of buying an Focusrite Octopre. I am currently using a Behringer ub1622 board for my pres. How much and what kind of differnce will I notice by moving up to that octopre? Or if there is something better in that price range?

I was recording at home last night and had to switch from my Trident S20 to a Digi 002 Rack simply because of too much noise.

i as now proceeding to get the best possible monitors pair for my home studio up to 1200$ priced, and i ve been suggested for Genelec 1029A pair.
on the websites price is between 1100$ and 1200$.
what i would look in the monitors features basically will be dynamics at low and high volumes. bass, treble and mid response.

why do headphones come in different ohm ratings?does that make some louder than others?what is the mW rating for?how much volume they can handle? and the db spl rating? is that how much signal they can handle before they distort?whats specs should i be lookin at for tracking?do you need to know your mixer specs when choosing a set of headphones?
