re new Audix i5
Forums
Has anyone out there that are presently using the current "d" lineup of Audix mics used the new Audix i5? I am wanting to get it for snare/gtr amp/vox/tom/. I already have a sm57, beta57a, and e609 for those uses listed above, but I like to have options. But the i5 is only 99.99 and I think all of the other d series start at least 129.99 or so (that i remember seeing).

Options/Suggestions
Forums
I'm an 18 year old, looking to begin recording myself on a small scale level and a resonably small scale budget. I'd like to start out spending no more than a $1000 or so.
I would primarily be recording guitar(acoustic/electric) and vocal, but also consider recording other instruments in the future (drum kit, keys, random).

Drum loops - Smartloops and others - What do you use?
Forums
I've been using Smartloops for drum loops. My past experience told me to either get a good drummer or learn how to play - times they have changed. As a guitar player, I figure I have enough on my hands...I know good drummers but in my studio, it's very comfortable to have loops on hand to pull together a demo. So, what have you guys used?
Popping sounds
Forums
I have a Tascam digital recorder attached to an aardvark card and when sound is inputed into a channel, a popping sound occurs every so often. I went through and set all the rates I could find to 44 but it is still popping. Any ideas?

Mixer PAN problem
Forums
I have a problem with the Behringer UB802 Eurorack. Whenver I turn the knob on PAN all the way to right, the microphones will not pick up any sound, and this happens on both Mic plugs. It only works when the knob is in the middle or all the way to the left.
I'm pretty sure it worked before, and now it doesn't
What seems to be the problem? Thanks

Advice for recording a small folk style ensemble
Forums
Hi All,
Firstly, just want to say that there are some great posts going here. I've mainly been an engineer for rock/pop over the years, yet have always appreciated classical music, and I'm looking at using some classical recording techniques to record a few tracks of a group I'm currently working with.
Forum Rollcall... Who's here?
Forums
Now that we have been up for a couple weeks and new people are coming in seemingly every day, I'm quite curious to see who is here... I see this being a good thing for a couple of reasons- one, we get to know a bit about the backgrounds of those that are posting. two, from a purely business standpoint, it is good to know where people are located.

burning midi and audio
Forums
I am fairly new at this:
I work with Cubasis VST and have songs which contain midi and audio. How can I get those songs burned on a CD-R? My burning program is Nero Burning suite. :?
