Anybody know anything about this mixer, Chilton QM3 ? There's one up for sale here and it might even be cheap. I know it's 70's and a discrete neve-style design. Possibly it's one of the "designed for BBC" desks but I'm not sure. Is this something very, very good ? Thanx for any input.

Has anyone ever had a chance to try NHT Monitors? Any thoughts on the A-20's?

Hello everybody, i'm a bit new here, so please excuse my innate stupidity. i wonder if soimeone can help me on this:

Earlier today I was making demos using my at4033 through my peavey VMP-2 preamp and Tascam 4 track and it just stopped working. I was using the preamp for the phantom power and all of a sudden the signal from the mic was cut out. The signal coming from my Audio-Technica all of a sudden just went out! SHould I send it to Audio-Technica for repairs? Does any one know the repair rates?

I am going to buy the KRK RP8 monitors, do you have any thoughts on these speakers? I use them both, for playing synth and for mixing (my own music). I like them, they have a nice sound, hopefully 'true' enough to get good mixes.

I'm getting a Pro Tools LE setup and it comes with D-verb, but i've heard that digital reverbs arn't quite up to snuff yet with their outboard counterparts. Is this true?
Are there any good plugins i can get, or should i just go for an old Lexicon unit?

hi i am getting a Crate CSX8 Analog mixing board. I am going to hook it up to my COMPAQ with Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and a standard soundcard.
I have a question about recording.

Is that how you get that fake-sampled-drums like The Used and stuff like that? I get confused because I listen to Korn and Slipknot's frist CDs and they sound like that but I know that everything was done analog and I am sure there wasn't compression on everything. I was at indigo ranch cople of years ago picking richard kaplan's brain but he seemed to be more towards the clean analog sound.
