COOL EDIT PRO HELP URGENLY NEEDED

I hope someone can help me out with my problem with Cool Edit Pro. All I want to do is convert some of my audio cassettes to CD format.

I've got everything set up already the only problem I have is configuring cool edit to record the sound coming from my Hi-Fi system through the line in cable connected to my PC. Can someone please help me out here and tell me what to do

No MIDI for Reason in Rewire

Whenever i open reason under rewire after SX, I get the following pop-up on start-up:

MIDI input problem
One or several of the MIDI inputs could not be opened. They might be in use by another application. Open the Preferences dialog and check your MIDI settings.

as a result, i can't use my controller's faders etc to control parameters in reason. what should i do?

ADM 2783 & ADM 1540 Pre / EQ

Hello, I know from searching the site that this question was addressed by a couple of people in 2002 but, in case anyone has had more recent experience, has anyone tried this mic preamp / eq combo from ADM? If so, what are your thoughts on the units? They're going quite cheap in some places and I was wondering if anyone recommends them... Thanks!

Why my mixes are within 150-250 hz

Please tell me why my mixes that I reproduce and analyze with the spectrum tool from Wavelab are within those frequencies?. The bars are bigger between 150-250hz and almost reach 5k. I have to EQ the whole track to raise some freqs and give balance to the whole track. Do you think this could be my room who is killing some freqs, or is how I use the EQ, or perhaps the tracking?

S/Pdif Help?

Yeah so I got me a Mackie mixer that is straight analog. I also got me one of them nifty M-Audio cards to record my stero outs onto the computer. Seems pretty good but I need more quality. I was looking on my M-Audio card and noticed a S/PDIF Out and In line. Looked up S/PDIF and found out it holds digital sounds. So I have the technology of going from analog to digital so I assume.
