Word Clock Q.

Would a "Accurate" external "Word Clock" make a noticable improvment in the converter sound of something like the M-Audio 1010?

Pro Tools Monitoring
Forums
Does anyone here know of a clean-sounding box that can essentially serve as a monitor section for Pro Tools? I.e., the L-R of Pro Tools would feed this box through a volume pot (and possibly a mono summing bus) and then right to the monitors? I'm using a Mackie mixer now which has three individual gain stages, plus an unswitchable EQ. All that can't be helping the signal!

GRIFFEN PREAMP
Forums
Any one ever heard of a griffen preamp ? I saw one at the NAMM show ( Not Available Maybe in May )
They didn't have a booth there but this preamp was at a chinese mic booth ! they were useing the preamp to show off their mics. I wasn't interested in the mics, but the preamp looked well made. I believe it was manufactured in sweeden.

Best digital interface
Forums
I suppose that's an ok way of saying it. Right now I'm using an old Yamaha DSP Factory sound card w/ its 4 channel expansion. I am wanting to upgrade and am looking for a good system that allows at least 8 channels in. I am wanting relatively simple though. Also looking newer software. Currently using MxTrax which I love but it is manufactured for the dsp factory.

Accessing the ADAT i/o's in my OO1?
Forums
OK, I would like to be able to hook up more outboard gear to my setup. I have already made use of the analog 1/4" i/o's. What do I have to do to be able to hook up to the ADAT/digital i/o's on my 001? I am using a 733mHz quicksilver G4 as well.
Many thaks in advance,
Eric

which compressor is better for tracking or mixing?
Forums
Which compressor is better for tracking or mixing between the teletronix la2a, avalon(any compressor), urei 1176, dbx Quantum II, fairchild 670-660, manley(any), drawmers? I do understand that each instrument or vocals may require a different compressor for better results...but which one is the most consistant between the ones I named :D ?
