need hard rock drummer for band

i have a roland ed pc 300 midi controller. i downloaded the appropriate drivers from edirol.com and ran the install. reason won't see the contoller. i checked profiler and the device is present. I'm in os10 and am not too familiar with it. i have done this to another machine and it worked on command. wtf?

Obviously you can't go wrong with the TT type patchbays, but the price is quite high. :td:
The TRS (frt/rr) seem like a good choice given that you can easily set them up.
Just wondering about the quality; sonic and durability...

Let's say you've imported an unmastered stereo mix(already at 16bit 44.1khz) into your two track editor, done some editing and then gone to "T-racks to master it. In this final step of the process is ther a need to dither to 16 bit at all?

Has anyone tried running cubase, logic, or Sonar inside VMware? How does it deal with audio cards? Or Win4Lin? I'm pretty excited about recent developments in linux pro audio, but I need to see that one of the major sequencers will work before I switch.
