This is my first post on ANY studio/recording forums.

Currently looking to upgrade my speaker system (quite rubbish atm), which I use for playing synths, mixing and listening to audio on my PC, and am looking to either buy a pair of Rokit 5's or a Roland CM 110's cube system. The 110's seem a better bang for my buck, but I can't seem to find any reviews or discussion on them.

I am a rookie producer/engineer who uses Cubase. I usually am hired for lower budget recording projects where I will do all the engineering, editing, mixing and sometimes mastering, and playing guitars and bass. I have been recording as a hobby for about 4 years, but only as a job for a little over a year.

Hey Guys!

This is an acoustic guitar recorded line in with the built in pickup. Why do the transients point upwards but not really down? It's not using the whole space. What does this mean?

I have my eye on is the Oktava mod MXL 603 Ultimate SDC mod:

Lord willing I'll be heading out in mid August to do some recording with my equipment. I'll be given a room at a convention and will be recording different speakers each hour.

I was litening to Humberto Gattica's mixes recently, and realised that his mixes are not only wide and deep but also tall if you know what i mean? And so I wanted to try this in my mixes. So far I'm not getting the results I would like. Also, to get sounds coming from behind you is another technique I want to develop? How do you achieve this?

This is more than a little frustrating. The "Random question's" answer is "Shure", but the system won't accept it. Why?

I am in the process of building a studio in my good friends home. The studio is about 900sqft, it has a large live room, 2 iso booths and a large control room. The studio is being built to be as soundproof as possible, double wall construction, two layers of drywall with green glue, etc...
