new to recording live audio, Need help picking out correct cables
can you tell me what kind of cables/adapters I would need to record from Yamaha M7CL to Fostex MR16?
Also does each XLR cable represent a left channel or right channel or both?
Thanks very much,
Bass String Selection
I have a Dean Razor j-bass with active pickups.
What strings should I use to get a warm, smooth, and punchy tone, perhaps something similar to 70's reggae or soul music.
I know my bass is not a good starting point, but what kind of strings would steer me in the right direction? Thick flatwounds?

Recording, punch ins and editing
Hey there, I was considering buying the Tascam us 1800 audio interface but Im a little worried about whether these types of things have the capabilities to record punch ins (and other editing necessities) because we would probably make many mistakes and have to redo starting from certain points.

Great Recording Cymbals
Hey everyone. If you are looking for some great cymbals for recording, check out Diril Cymbals. I own a ride cymbal and two crashes from them, and I have never been so satisfied with an instrument purchase. Each cymbal is hand crafted in Samsun, Turkey, and they are incredibly gorgeous sounding.
