Need a better way to interface my head and cab.

OK, so as a few of you might know from reading other threads, I just got a new Mesa 4x12 and it's beastly. My amp has only a single 4Ohm out and when I plug it into one of the Mesa's 4 Ohm jacks the cab only plays on one side. One jack per side. 8Ohm jack plays all four speakers at once, but sounds like sloppy butt because of the mismatched impedance.

[NEWBIE] Want to set up a studio in my room

OKAY, well, I'm a mega noob when it comes to this, and I've had 0 experience with the studio environment.

I want to set up a basic studio in my room for recording vocals(for hip hop , if that matters).

So, please go easy on me and recommend me some good equipment and around how much I would be spending?

Fostex MR-16, can I slow down my tracks?

Just started using my Fostex MR-16 in my home studio. Will be doing demos for original songs, but also want to slow down tracks to figure out fast licks from recordings. No direct instructions on this function in the manual, and having trouble getting tech support from Fostex... Any ideas? Appreciate any input for a new user...

How are loudspeakers measured?

This is very strange. I received my new cab today and I'm a bit concerned. It is supposed to be a 4x12 cab, but upon holding a measuring tape to the speakers, they only measure about 10-10 1/2" from edge to edge. Maybe this is not how they are measured? I am very confused and I'm wondering if I should be concerned or not. Any peace of mind?
