Ok so I connect my bass to a direct box and next to a preamp that goes to an interface.
I notice a kinda click sound every now and then so I think well maibe a bad cable. I change the bass cable dosnt seem to solve the problem.

I have a JVC Boomblaster with microphone/guiter input. Does it funkction as a substitute for an audio interface for audio recording if I connect it to my computer?

a Sterling ST55 Mic($150)
a M-Audio Firewire Solo interface(not a preamp, $200)
i use adobe audition to mix my vocals, on my PC
and of course a mic stand shockmount an pop filter

I've had a MOTU 8pre for almost 2 years. It worked great for quite a while.

This fall it began to disrupt my whole computer. I run XP Professional on an Intel board, Intel Quad Core processor, 8 gigs of ram. Freeze-ups of any type of program that uses audio. My DAW is Cubase SX3.
