how to make my hobby my career?

i have been producing electronic music unprofessionally for over 10 years now. and to make a long story short i am tired of my job and want to make my hobby my career, and although i have much practice, i have never taken any classes or anything like that. so what suggestions would any of you have on doing this?

recording problem

I dont know if it is to do with the zoom hd8 or the mic but when i try and record it makes a terrible howling sound - like the wind howling - then popping - my mic is a Behringer b2pro - i have bought a new lead and that worked for a while but now it just does the same with that - I'm quite new to all this equiptment and any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

Recording newbie HELP regarding interfaces questions

Hey guys,
I play guitar and I want to record a cover album with a couple of mates for the summer holidays with piano, guitar, vocals and possibly drums and bass (recording individually). I am a complete newbie so all the information I have is from a couple of people from the guitar shop.

I have a couple of questions regarding interfaces:

How does a standalone converter integrate with a sound card?

I just don't get it: I use and ECHO Layla3G. It has 8 ins and outs and, of course, its own converters. It works and sounds great, but in the relentless pursuit of the golden signal chain, I've always wanted to upgrade to a better set of converters, but I can't wrap my mind around how it would work.
