i have a band coming in, i was wondering if any body knew how i could just connect an amp head direct to the house then to a track on the computer... my main delema: if i connect it from the output on the amp.. will the signal be too high or amperage to high that it will blow out my board?

I own a Soundcraft Ghost le24 which I use with an 8 track analog setup and I'm looking to upgrade to a 24 track hard disk but would like to know the following from a Soundcraft Ghost user like what's the deal do I have to ride the gain on the channel to +6 to get to +4dbu on my channel strip direct out?

I am wondering what you think about running a drum machine through Sebatron vmp -2000e for recording. Have any of you used it for this purpose, and how did you like the results you've gotten.

I've been getting ok results recording my guitar direct to my DAW but would like to see if anyone has any suggestions or tips to give it some "air" or "room space". in other words it sounds very dry and in your face.

here is my setup.

guitar/ effects pedals(eq/distortion/chorus/delay)/ tube preamp/ ADA Microcab(cabinet simulator)/ Emu 1212m(sound card).

When it comes to bass, aka the rhythmic foundation of a tune... aka the only element you can feel down in your... well... you know what i mean.

I'm trying to do a video project AND a CD.
The DV link brings the audio from the video in at 48K.

I used the Wavelab converter to change the sample rate to 44.1K
My ears don't detect any audible difference.

However, I need answers to these questions.

I am using Acid 5.0. I am currently recording direct in using a V-Amp. Do I need to keep using the v-amp, or just go dry in and add effects after it is in. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
