I need help choosing some drum mics.

Drum setup:
snare, hihat, kick-drum, 2 toms, floor tom, ride, crash

Related equipment: Alesis MultiMix 8 Channel Mixer
M-Audio DMP3 2 Mic Preamp
ART Tubepac Preamp
M-Audio Firewire Solo

i realised when i make beats with an artist i always a) have trouble finding nice drums or b) spend time EQing them while I'm making the track. The point I'm trying to make is- it wastes a lot of time (creative time).

Alright so I know what the purpose of a LD Condenser microphone on the outside of a kick drum (resonant head) is used for (ie. fuller more deep sound) but my question is what do those of you who use this second mic do with it.

Do you just combine the tracks in the mixer going into either software or tape? Or do you keep it seperate.

k i am trying to record drums and the drums sound amazing before micing. then after Micing they sound great trough my PA speakers. then they run to my firepod and... CRAPPPPPPPP first the eq is all wrong then one of the toms is louder than all the others. i have turned this channel all the way down and still louder than everything...

I am currently using an Alesis SR-16 to do my drum tracks with, not being a drummer I find it hard to create my own Drum Loops and fills so pretty much just use the presets and process the Bass and Snare drum seperatley in pro tools.

I recently purchased two AT3035's to mic drums and vocals mainly. I also have two sm57's. What would be the best way to distribute these mics over the kit. i was thinking of using the 57's as overheads... one at3035 on the kick and one on the snare? obviously the at3035's would be better overheads. :evil:

I have an electronic drum kit in my home studio. The snare sounds suck. I want to record without the snare then add a good snare sound at the end. Does anyone have any tracks of just a snare perferibly piccolo snare or something that sounds good, and doens't sound fake.
