I miced a drum kit using a pair of Samson C02 overheads, an SM57 on the snare and an AKG D112 on the kick. The Overheads were ran through a pair of PreSonus tubepres, and the Kick went into an art tube mp preamp. These were then fed into a Fostex VF160EX recorder.

The overall sound was very good. It sounded real, almost live, and went direct with no EQ sounding pretty decent.

I'm looking for a program similar to Drumagog or SoundReplacer for VST or DX (for use in Sonar 6). I got FXpansion's BFD not understanding that it isn't what i'm looking for. (unless it is, and then i'm an idiot) Thanks

hey everyone, Ive changed from playin a stomp box with plate mic inside,which ive used for 6 years, to using the DM5 drum brain and an external trigger.

After trying 5 different designs of trigger using a transducer,wired reverse polarity, I still cant get one with a 100 percent consistency.

Exactly how do I work with the kick drum and bass. Should I be gating the kick drum and compressing the bass? I just want them to work well together. Any tips?

I use an acrylic kick drum that measures 22" x 20". It sounds huge in my studio. Then I mic it with a Beta-52 a few inches into the resonant head, facing some 20 degrees off-center and an MXL 63M a few feet from the drum, facing on-center. This is the best combination I was able to find, but it still leaves me way unimpressed.

I thought it would nifty to paint my cymbals to match my drumset...

how do you think this would affect the sound and performance of the cymbals?

Hey guys, i've posted about this issue in the past. What I'm looking for is a drum sequencer that ican use inside Sonar. I am aware there is a midi drum sequencer but I am looking to use a drum sequencer where i can load wavs, and what not. I do not use the rewrire to FL device, as it eats up my latency!
anyways, are there any plugins? or something i missed?
