Cakewalk Home Studio 2002 - playback pitch, tempo of guitar is distorted

Hello,

I am using cakewalk home studio 2002 to record my guitar through a microphone that is plugged directly into the sound card in back of my pc and there is some sort of problem because when I play the track back the pitch and tempo of the guitar is distorted. I recorded a short 50 second track and made it into an mp3 file so you can hear what I am talking about.

Guitar Amp doesn't work, any ideas. ?

Hello.
I have this old Peavy 75Watt Solo series Bandit amp. About 10 years ago dicking around I was playing with it and I had two distortion effects pedals running into it and I was jamming really loud and it just stopped working.

No crackles, no pops, nothing, just silence.

Anyways, I threw it into storage and recently dug it out because I need a new amp.

Guitar + Vocals with just 1 mic technique I like

So I was in a bit of a hurry and needed to get a quick demo of a song I had been working on. So I quickly set up my K2 and hit the record button. The song it self is supposed to be a kind of "ghost story" feel. Think Nick Drake and Iron And Wine kind of stuff. So I spent about 5 minutes looking for a decent mic placement. I came across one I truely found remarkable.

Recording Distorted Guitar

Hey it's me again. Anyways I was recording the distorted guitar parts for my friend's band and I couldn't seem to get it to sound right. It sounds too distorted and like there is too much high frequency. The mic is placed about an inch away from the amp, I'm using an Audix dynamic mic to record. We are using a metal zone but the distortion is turned down almost all the way.
