Decided to mic bass and guitar need some help.

Forums

I have been using a POD for guitar and just a preamp for bass as a DI. I use a SOLO 610 for the POD and an LA610 for the bass.

I plugged in one of my guitars and amps today and wailed away full open. Although it's maybe 18 watts it was loud and glorious. I did things I just could not do direct with the POD.

Will a furman help eliminate guitar issues

Hello!

I was wanting to know if investing in a furman line conditioner, and running my recording rig through it, will help in eliminating the noise issues I'm having with electric guitars and basses. I can quite safely say that the guitars in question are reasonably new, and well made, and have their wiring in order. This is for DI recordings only.

How To Get A Good Metal Guitar Sound

Alright so I'm having a lot of trouble getting a good distorted sound. I don't know if it is the mics, Micing techniques or just poor eqing. I'm playing through a Mesa Dual Rectifier and getting a great sound that way. Im using one sm57 which goes through a PreSonus firepod and i just use Cubase le's built in eq's. Any suggestions?

Recording acoustic guitar issues

Hey, I'm trying to record some acoustic guitar but have some problems. I'm using a guitar with a built in microphone that is hooked up to an external soundcard Edirol UA-25. I'm recording in Cubase SX3. The problem that it seems no matter what I do the recording comes out with extremely low gain, the track show almost only a thin line unless I play really strongly.
