Guitar buzz. How to ground a guitar

hey guys, i was just wondering. is there any way to reduce the buzz in an electric guitar? i always have this buzz even without gain involved(slightly lesser buzz) maybe a result of it being ungrounded. i have to put my finger on the string area or lower the volume to keep it quiet. my guitar is ok its just annoying esp when the overdrive kicks in. any DIY techniques are welcome.

different mic choice on steel vs nylon strung guitar ?

Forums

Hi all,

I'm not a complete newbie on recording, but I don't have any knowledge on mic choice/placement when it comes to the difference (is there?) between a nylon and a steel strung guitar.

Normally there's only 1 acoustic guitar I have to deal with at a time. Mostly I prefer a Beyer M260. Or MD421-II in live situations.

What do you do? Micing guitar and singing at the same time.

Forums

Hey everyone, I often times have a lot of trouble singing if I am not playing my guitar at the same time. There are a lot more fluctuations and screw ups when I am just singing along to the music. Do you guys often record an acoustic artist while he both sings and plays at the same time? If so then I will go out and buy another mic.

Bigger and Better Guitars!

hey all. i know there's a wealth of knowledge and experience out there and i'm looking for any suggestions! I currently run my elec guitar through a Line 6 POD live xt pedal ( which is incredible) directly into my digi 002 rack, using PT LE.The sound is pretty good for not being able to record an amp. But now i want bigger and better guitar sound!

recording guitar directly into digi 002R

hello everyone. I run Pro Tools LE w/ a digi 002 rack on a Mac Pro desktop (Intel). I do a lot of guitar recording but due to a need to keep the noise down (unfortunately) I am forced to record directly into PT. What I do now is run the guitar through a Line 6 Pod XT floor pedal. then run it into a channel on the 002 rack.
