Recording vocals & guitar simultaneously
Hi all,
I am trying to record vocals and acoustic guitar simultaneously, using only two microphones and two-track recording and still get a good stereo result (for musical reasons, I much prefer to play and sing at the same time, rather than do each separately).

something wrong with my home setup? or my new guitar?
I bought a new guitar- works great. Except i noticed that the 1st string was losing sustain around the middle frets when I plugged it into my home recording setup.
The guitar is new, so I immediatly took it back to the store. And sure enough, when I plugged into their amp- it sounded just fine.
(therefore I am not submitting this to a guitar forum)
Small diaphragm condensers for guitar and drums OH
Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a pair of small diaphragm condensers that would work well with an acoustic guitar and for drums overheads.
Some people have suggested the SM81's for me. Any alternatives I should consider? They are within my budget, no problem, but I wonder if they are the best option (they seem to be a studio staple around here).
Thanks.
api 3124 for classical guitar and "all purpose"?
Hey, I'm thinking of getting better preamps.
I'd like to use them to record nylon string guitar both classical stuff and pop/jazz, but I'd also like them to be as "all purpose" as things can be ranging from vocals to drums from the aforementioned classical to alt.rock or blues rock or trippy acid rock a la Jefferson Airplane or popressive pop stuff.
need help with classical guitar recording
Hi, my name is Reza. I have been recently helping my father’s interest to make a solo classical-guitar album. Unlike the common solo classical-guitar recording which contains only classical songs, this album will contains many kinds of music style. Still they are included but just a few. There are many kinds of genre here, including Jazz, Pop, Flamenco, Country, R&B, and more.

DISTANT GUITARS
I reciently let my intern record the over-dubs on a session. I set up the mic on the amp and it sounded good, a no-brainer. The problem I am now facing in mix-down is that when he recorded the rhy-guit, he must have switched mic-inputs, because the mic that was in front of the amp was not recorded. What was recorded, was some other live mic that was in the studio.

Distant Sounding Guitar
With a few recording sessions I miced a guitar amp, and it sounded distant like. I tried different mic's, with very close to the speaker and at different angles, but still very distant sounding.
I had this with a Marshall JCM 900 and a Fender Deluxe.
I tried mics like an SM57, MD421, some condensers and in combination.
