Seeking Advise: Impedance Matching
Can I connect two preamps in series without damaging either preamp? The signal chain is:
mic (200 ohm output) => Preamp #1 (10kohm input and 50 ohm output, 22 dBu max) => Preamp #2 (1200 ohm input) => in-line attenuator => DAW (10Kohm input).
In case it matters, preamp#1 is SPL Channel One, and preamp #2 is SCA J99.

Soundcard Input Impedance and a PreAmp Q
I haven't been here in about a year and it is great to see many familiar names and lots of new ones too.
I have been looking into my signal path as it will be (hopefully) after Christmas time. Which led to looking at impedance matching and proper paths. (something I needed to better understand).

Impedance issues. . mic-mic preamp
Let me try again and refrase it...
I think (but I should say I know) that impedance matching could be key in a lot of recording applications.
It affects the way two pieces of gear interact with each other.
What I am interested in is impedance matching within microphone and preamp.

impedance match ?
Could someone explain wath's the deal with impedance match between mics and pres ?
On some hi end pres it seems that the gain button is replaced by an impedance button.
Is the an audible difference other than the obvious distortion(like in a Marshall low-Z input) ?
please tell me more about the importance of this small detail.

What's the impedance of a...
What is the impedance of a Fender Blues Deluxe combo's Power Amp In jack? I'm thinking of recording direct from the Preamp Out jack into a Director DI then reamping at mixdown when I can crank it. Should I use something like the ReAmp (http://www.reamp.com) to change the balanced +4 Low-Z singal to unbalanced Hi-Z?
