Noobie firebox/XP-80/Cubase MIDI question

Hey All,

Quick Noobie question.

Just hooked up my old Roland XP-80 synth to my new Firebox interface. Using the included Cubase LE software. I can't seem to record midi correctly. It won't record like it sounds. For example, my synth baseline sounds like a piano. I assume it is a midi mapping problem?

For MIDI Triggering Accuracy, You'd Recommend...

I'm going to purchase a new module. I'll be using ddrum triggers on an acoustic kit, and going via midi into pro tools. I'm not sure if there is latency on these machines, but I want it to be as accurate as possible. I don't need any onboard sounds. That being said, which module would be the best, if any of these, and why.

E-MU 1616/MIDI setup NEED HELP

Does anybody record with a laptop?

If so, I have an E-MU 1616 unit that came with MIDI cables. The keyboard I am running is a Yamaha Motif 6.

Anyways, maybe I don't understand MIDI recording but my program, Sound Forge 6, does not read any signal from the E-MU using a MIDI connection. I get a signal from the headphone jack OUT on the keyboard, but it is very quieted.

Cant monitor MIDI through speakers-only "audio"

Hi, this is probably a "schoolboy" mistake and something that i just havent picked up yet (still new to all of this!).

i have my primitve DAW setup like this-

-MIDI OUT from keyboard to MIDI IN of Tascam Us-122 interface.
-Line Out (L+R) from Tascam into monitor amp.
-USB from Tascam to computer USB port.

MIDI Craziness with Cubase SX 3...MSB,LSB?

I just added another sound module to my setup(Korg NS5R). It has 15 different banks. I can get Cubase to get into the first 3, in the inspector, but beyond that I can't. The Cubase manuals have nothing on MSB/LSB banks. Or at least I haven't seen it.

I've tried to setup a Midi Device in the "Midi Device Manager", but I can't get it to work.
