I'm in the process of putting my home studio together, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting two-way communication between my Mackie 24*8 bus mixing board, and a Tascam US-16x08.
I have limited experience with mixing boards, but a friend sold me the Mackie for "an offer I couldn't refuse".

The reason why I am creating this Thread is because there is a lot of confusion going on I believe, and I am not a professional on this Subject matter myself. So I'm hoping that somebody can break it down.

I'm old. Been toting gear for a long time. Getting new knees will help but thats not going to happen sooner than later. So...live shows are slowing down since I'm the main PA/Lights owner /mover. I've been needing to compact things for awhile now and finally did it.

I would love to have some recommendations for a Mixer that is within the $100-200 range. If there is a significantly better Mixer near $300, that's okay too.

The amount of inputs/outputs are not my first priority. My first priority is Effects!

I record on a tapco 6306 mixer and record files using an AT3035 mic, and adobe audition software. I'm told that my studio sound is fuzzy and has a pronounced echo. I never hear that in my studio but that's what the other person is telling me. Any suggestions?
